Zory McGrath is a Melbourne based contemporary artist and master iconographer. Her paintings feature concepts of forms and shape, linking an inherent connection with their immediate environment. Exploring abstract interpretations of form, her figures rise out of a vibrant colour palette with both obscure and opaque sensitivities.
McGrath's compositions are full of figurative patterns, dynamic brush strokes and impasto textures, all of which merge into the form as a surface and convey the practice of space and direction.
Her artworks are inspired by the Abstract Expressionist movement and works of Franz Marc, Wassily Kandinsky, Robert Delaunay and Rodger Kemp.
