With the energy of oil paint and acrylic, Nineta Verbica brings to life her dynamic landscapes. Curved, mountainous horizons, woodland trees with rusty leaves. Sea waves with rolling old boats and radiant figures. Each line and mark forming a harmonious intonation on the canvas.

Intersection of the color dye creates an abstraction that reveals the manifestation of nature. All of these are expressions of tension that are manifested in the artistic emotion of the painter.

Nineta Verbica was born in 1945 in Shkoder, Albania. She finished Art School at ‘Jordan Misja’ in Tirana in the painting department. Verbica worked as a designer and an art teacher throughout her life and alongside it she was constantly producing art work. From a young age, Verbica was always painting. She was being carefully mentored by the well-known artist Simon Rrota.

Since 1962, she has participated in many national exhibitions in Tirana in Shkoder.

Up until the 1990’s, contemporary art was seen as improper and unlawful in Albania. Soon after the fall of the dictatorship, Verbica encountered new opportunities that enabled her to apply the term of ‘abstract impressionism’ to her work.

Since then from 1993 to 2017, she has shown 8 solo exhibitions in Tirana, Shkoder, Montenegro and Italy. Verbica has also been active in many group exhibitions in Albania, Montenegro, Italy, France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Nineta Verbica is currently a pensioner and lives between Albania and Germany.
